Some of the culms of Phyllostachys flexuosa show a distinct zigzag pattern and all are extremely flexible. The leaves and branches are somewhat more open that other varieties giving this bamboo a more airy appearance. Shoots are delicious. Culms are used for woven bamboo articles, fishing rods and pipes. We have formed circles as small as 6" in diameter with green culms.
